Mainly for ceremonial event. Male royal family wear this cloth.

Second image is royal family's dancer in japan. Those clot is only for ceremony uses. these two garments have not been change since 1200 years ago.

high school uniform and Buddhist monk. Those two images are member of those groups.
they wear same cloth.

Gender Differentiation

First image is men's and women's shirt. Front placket is different between gender.

Second image is Japanese kimono call Yukata. Kimono has same front side but obi belt is different. men's obi is thinner than women's.

Decoration
First image is dancer from south east Asia. This garment is for traditional dance performance.

Second image is Tattoo. It was consider as group membership before as Yakuza as Japanese mafia, but now a days it became part of trend.

Environment protection
First image is Mongolian family who is wearing traditional cloth.Mongolia is very cold in the winter season ,so cloth has the practical function to it. This garment is for environment protection which you can see from the tight neck to shut cold air and long sleeves for covering their hands.

second image is middle east traditional out fit. they use scarfs as breathing method
while sand storm comes. They can breath through scarfs.

Issei Miyake
1978 Established the look in Paris.
He used one simple fabric to rap and making into dresses

In 1993 he created new look call Pleats Please.
He developed the pleats fabric. His concept of this design is design become alive when it is in life.

Hanae Mori
Fall/Winter 2004 Haute Couture
Her early design was inspired by butterfly and Japanese cloth.
She had own line in Couture from 1977 until 2004

This image dress is stain silk with Japanese embroidery technique.

Balenciaga
He designed Square coat during the World War Two. It got attention by lot of people.
He tend to use heavy fabric and Bold matrials. He is well known for well constructional designer.

He changed the fashion world from establishing this dress after World War Two.
He celebrated new era from the new bold look call Bar suit.

Coco Chanel
1913-39 1954-71
She turn the fashion scene at that time upside down.
using jersey fabric for main fabric.
After 1954 she come up with Chanel suits.
