7. Punk started from 1970's in UK. Vivian Westwood mainly involved with punk fashion seance. She made the cloth to Sex Pistols and that is the start of this fashion seance. Runway images are Gucci fall 2008 designed by Frida Giannini. Leather jacket has skinny short length and pants is skinny.

6. Disco boom started around 1970's. It started from the music and dance trend. Fashion style is flowing Halston dresses for women and shiny polyester wore big pointy coller Qiana shirts with open at the chest. Saturday Night Fever played by John Travolta. he is a good reference for Disco seen. 2 images from Dolce & Gabbana spring 2009. Open shirts look remind me of this Disco fashion style.

5. Hippie is the movement of the love, peace, freedom and art. During the Vietnam War. There was also same era of anti-war movement among young people. Style is Bohemian look with colorful ethnic influence. Native American look was one of their ethnic influence. The runway images are from Anna Sui RTW NY. First image has bohemian feel. Second image on the jacket and the dress has the pattern of the Native American design which often see on the woven blanket texture.

4. Mods is started from UK. The fashion style is skinny three button jacket and military parka. Rocker's were the enemy. First image is the logo of the Mod's.
Second image is the fashion style of Mod's in 1962,UK.
Runway images are from Gucci fall 2008. On this collection, Frida Giannini made a collection more look toward rockers but soome of the design has Mod's elements. Three button skinny suit jacket have a feel to it.

3.The movement of Beatnik start from early 1950's. Beatnik concept is anti-materialistic. Style of fashion is Black turtleneck sweater and black leotards. Men has goatee and women have their hair long. 2 images are from Raf Simons fall 2008. It has high waist trouser and black turtleneck sweater. It has very close to Beatnik fashion style.

2.Teddy boys look got influenced by the Edwardian fashion. Style is gray or dark shades jacket with velvet on the trimming part sometime and high waist trouser.

1. Zoot suits come up in late 1930's and 1940's among minority at that time as African American, Puerto Rican,Italian American and Filipino American. It is the suits that has oversize look but the cuff and the hem of the trouser are tight. It reminds me the image of oversize hiphop look. The image is from 1930's to 40's in US.
Runway images are from Bottega Veneta. Designer is Tomas Maier's His 2008 fall collection has American history fashion feel to it, so one of the design was the zoot suit look.

Ancient Egypt
This is Christian Dior 2004 spring couture designed by John Galliano. He got influenced by Egyptian gods and the pharaoh costumes. The neck line drapping shows the skirt design on the relief. Dress is mostly gold which has feeling of Egyptian style.

Sky diver also wear jumpsuit for protection purposes.
